A coincidence is simply God’s way of remaining anonymous. This has happened to me both personally and professionally many times lately. A simple call a few months ago to a psychologist I have known for over five years started the many coincidences I have witnessed lately. Both Roma Palcan, Ph.D (Licensed Psychologist) and her colleague, Russ Porter M.A., LMHC, are ending their lease July 1st at an office close by and are looking for a place to relocate. Both of them have many years of experience with Christian Counseling and are wonderful, caring, and qualified counselors. Through several phone conversations and interviews, CTK is blessed to have them come on board at the end of June. Part of hearing God’s call, then, is being willing to act faithfully in everyday situations. For all we know, our everyday actions (like a phone call) may play a role in a “Divine Coincidence.”

Your ways are higher than our ways,
and deeper than our deepest imaginings.
We cannot understand how you guide us,
but we are so very thankful that you do.
Help us to trust you with the future
so that we may be free to serve you and others
with energy, intelligence, imagination, and love.

I give my heartfelt thanks for the privilege of serving you as your counselor. Shari Lindquist responded to God’s call to start a counseling ministry here several years ago and it is very sad to say good bye to her. Now God is calling me and my colleague, Russell Porter to move this ministry forward and build it up. We are called to “heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives” (Luke 5:18). God longs for His church and the people of this community to be whole, healed, and free. This is my mission. By God’s grace and through His strength He will carry it out in me. In the coming months we will become better acquainted. I have been a Christian psychologist in Seminole for over 10 years and have developed counseling ministries in several Tampa bay area churches. You will observe a new family participating in your service that includes a single mother (myself) and four children. Some of you will participate in the counseling ministry by joining me as we take the kingdom of God to others and God through us brings about emotional, spiritual, and physical healing. Others will personally seek the counsel of this ministry. Still others will join groups that will provide knowledge and support in areas in which we need to grow. Christ the King will become a brighter beacon of light to our city. God has plans for us and I am so excited to be part of it. Thank you again for this opportunity to serve God together.
